On thing I never quite understood back in my learning days about web hosting was the difference between windows hosting and linux hosting. Both had its advantages and disadvantages but since I was quite adept at using the linux platform, I guess I was more biased towards using that as a medium for my hosting site. It is quite true that linux is somewhat of an elite platform because you really need to study how to utilize and maximize such and believe me, it is more difficult than windows.

However, according to many reviews. It is all dependent on the requirements and comfortability of those who use it which will determine its efficiency and maximization. For those in Business web hosting, they say linux is recommended for those big companies with essential data stored as they say linux is very difficult to hack out and even virus-free they say. I will never really know the difference on such if I do not know how to operate windows also so I guess I will have to learn everything too in order for me to determine which is the better platform to use for web hosting.
